About the author:

The Hamburger Thomas Schmidt is a biologist and author. Even as a child, he was fascinated by birds. Schmidt has now written several children's nonfiction books about his favorite animals. He is particularly fond of his elegant storks. He fondly remembers a visit to the stork village of Linum in Brandenburg. There, he was able to watch the beautiful birds breeding and observe them searching for frogs in the meadows and ponds.
